Market Porter, Borough - photo credit: James Cridland

Today spent the day in London going round the rather good London Aquarium (in the old County Hall building) – and following this, we took a trip down to Borough, and landed up taking in a few pints in the Market Porter in my first trip down there. Having heard all the reviews, we weren’t disappointed by the real ales down there.

We managed to try: Loddon’s “Hoppit”, Anglo-Dutch’s “God’s Own Ale”, Milestone’s “Crusader” and Church End’s “Grave Digger’s Ale”. All highly recommended (probably my favourite was the Church End, which was much like a dark mild, even though not described as such. The Anglo-Dutch was also very tasty with a lovely toffee flavour to it).

There were another 8 beers on that we didn’t manage to try, though here’s to hoping we get to be in the area at some point in the not too distant future… :-)
